Here at Lewis Hart Security Services we are currently undergoing our SIA Approved Contractor scheme 2017 assessment. The Security Industry Authority is the organisation, reporting to the home office, that is responsible for regulating the private security industry. The SIA scheme is required for individuals to obtain licencing to undertake designated activities with the private security industry. SIA also manage the voluntary Approved Contractor Scheme, which measures private security suppliers against independently assessed criteria.
SIA licensing covers manned guarding, for example security guards and door supervisors. It also covers key holding. Licensing ensures that private security operatives are fit and proper persons who are properly trained and qualified to do their job. The Approved Contractor Scheme is a set operation and performance standard that private security services must adhere too.
Organisations that meet these standards are awarded Approved Contractor status. This accreditation provides purchasers of private security services with independent proof of a contractor's commitment to quality. The scheme is voluntary and was developed in consultation with representatives from across the industry, with the objective of raising performance standards and helping develop the industry in developing new opportunities.

You can also be confident that we are committed to compulsory licencing of our staff and that our operatives we deploy to your premises will be working within the law.
